FEEL - a new research project

Flinders Fertility is involved in some interesting new research in collaboration with Flinders University. This research project aims to explore the relationship between paternal (father’s) stress exposure and reproductive outcomes.

We know that our environment is important, and we know that it may affect both our physical and our mental health. Interestingly, we also know that the environment our parents experienced prior to our birth is associated with our own health outcomes later in life. Yet how this occurs is not fully understood.

This study will investigate the impact of recent stressors, including diet, exercise and stress, as well as distant stressors, such as those experienced in childhood, on fertility-related measures and outcomes, and the structure of DNA in sperm for couples undergoing in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.

You might see our helpful researchers from Flinders University whilst you attend your appointments at Flinders Fertility.
